Covid-19 Safety Protocol

Brooklyn Cat Sitting appreciates the opportunity to continue serving our clients during this worldwide health crisis.

Please be aware that all of our sitters will carry hand sanitizers with them, but to ensure that we leave your residence as clean and virus free as we found it, take note of our procedures:

  1. It is imperative that you inform Brooklyn Cat Sitting, Inc. if anyone in your home has tested positive for Covid-19 within the fourteen days prior to our scheduled first visit. You may inform us by email, text, or phone ASAP. For obvious reasons, this may impact our sitter’s continuation of service. If your sitter cannot continue service, we will try to replace your sitter from someone else on our staff.

  2. During these uncertain times, we highly recommend having a neighbor, friend, or relative available in the unlikely event we are unable to have a healthy sitter care for your cat(s) or if there is someone in your household who has tested positive for Covid-19.

  3. Immediately upon entering your home, our sitters will wash their hands as per the guidelines set forth by the CDC.

  4. If you have antibacterial wipes or disinfectant cleaning supplies, you may leave them in an easily identifiable location.

  5. If your sitter will be picking up keys at the front desk, we ask that they be allowed to keep the keys for the full reservation and drop them back off at the front desk after the last visit. This will limit possible exposure that might occur with continued front desk interaction.

  6. No other people (housekeeper, friend, etc.) should be present in the home during a sitter’s visit. Please advise in advance if a housekeeper or anyone else will present so our sitters can plan accordingly. In the event a roommate will be present during the duration of a reservation, we will not be able to accommodate your reservation at this time.

Our sitters have been asked to avoid close contact with people known to be ill whether or not that person is confirmed to be suffering from the virus or not. In addition, our sitters are required to report if they are experiencing any of the known COVID-19 symptoms such as a fever, sore throat, loss of taste, et al. By following these guidelines we will all help insure everyone’s continued health and safety. Thank you for your cooperation. Let us assure you we look forward to the day when these steps will no longer be necessary and all our lives may return to normal.
